Established in 1998 and based in Melbourne’s inner east AFN is a dedicated finance broking and mortgage management group. We have two operating companies - AFN Residential Finance which operates as a mortgage manager and AFN Corporate Finance - a residential & commercial broker.
In practice we operate as a single business unit providing integrated finance solutions for our clients.

With more than 30 years’ experience as a corporate finance broker, and 25 years as principal of Tier 1 mortgage management firms, Doug has been involved at the forefront of both the finance broking and non-bank mortgage industries since the mid 1980s.
Prior to becoming a broker in 1987 Doug was the State Manager of Perpetual Finance in South Australia, and previously General Manager Property and Finance for MS McLeod Ltd, a major South Australian public company with over 1500 employees. In that role he was responsible to the Board for
Although predominantly a property and business finance specialist, Doug has a sound grasp of all types of residential, equipment and commercial finance. Where necessary he is able to call upon the expertise of senior bankers and lenders from an extensive lending panel.
Doug’s corporate finance background and experience enable him to understand and deal with complex structures, asset protection and tax planning measures at both a personal and business level.
Over the last 30 years Doug and his team have provided advice and arranged finance for more than 3,000 clients ranging from first home buyers to public companies and semi government authorities.
Member of the Finance Brokers Association of Australia (FBAA).
Both companies hold professional indemnity insurance in accordance with FBAA and lender requirements.
Both companies are members of the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (ACFA).
